They waited hand-in-hand,
The young woman and her man,
At the Old Kilmore Courthouse as the judge refused him bail.

And still she waits, hand outstretched,
Before the name that is etched,
On the gravestone, behind the bluestone, of the Old Kilmore Gaol.

My sister asked me to write her a poem, something to do with our home town, which she transcribed into Braille for an art porfolio. The portfolio theme was hands.

This one however, she put together as screws drilled into a sheet of metal.
